Canadian Armed Forces National Exercises

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) conduct an extensive number of military exercises at the tactical, operational and strategic levels to train and prepare for future operations at home and abroad. Military exercises ensure the CAF remain a joint, integrated, agile and ready force that can meet success in operations in defence of Canadians and Canadian interests.

These exercises leverage members from the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Canadian Navy to ensure joint training and readiness for the full spectrum of operations - from humanitarian assistance through peacekeeping and stability operations to combat.

National-level exercises give the CAF the opportunity to train from the lowest individual-level to the highest national-command level. In some cases, members of other armed forces participate as well, allowing for interoperability between nations.

Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) runs the following exercises:

JOINTEX

Exercise DETERMINED DRAGON

Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC)

A multinational military exercise in the Pacific Ocean designed to build interoperability among participants and prepare for a wide range of potential operations, ranging from humanitarian assistance to combat operations.
