Mission

The mission of the Office of the DND/CF Legal Advisor is:

to provide objective and strategic legal advice and services to our DND and CF client to enable them to achieve their mission in accordance with the law.

We do this by:

• effectively and efficiently providing high-quality solution-oriented services in co-operation with the Office of the Judge Advocate General; and
• joint planning and priority setting with clients.

Our Role

The Office of the Legal advisor to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces (DND/CF LA) provides legal services to the Department of National Defence (DND) and to the Canadian Forces (CF) in all areas of the law, except those related to military law, military discipline and the military justice system for which the Judge Advocate General (JAG) is responsible.
