The Executive Vice-President (EVP), as part of the President’s office, performs duties and functions similar to the President. The EVP acts as President in the President’s absence.

Mary Komarynsky

Mary Komarynsky was appointed Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), effective July 11, 2011.

Before joining the CFIA, Mrs. Komarynsky served as Assistant Deputy Minister at Transport Canada, from April 2007.

Previously, Mrs. Komarynsky was Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet at the Privy Council Office. She also held the positions of assistant deputy minister and director general at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Environment Canada.

Mrs. Komarynsky holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo.
