Web Browsers

Having difficulty with a PDF file?

Once the PDF is saved, you should then be able to open it. You must have "Adobe Acrobat" in order to edit PDF documents.

A web browser (or browser) is a software application that allows you to search for and view various kinds of information on the Web, such as websites, video, audio, etc.

If you are using an older browser, you should consider upgrading it to a newer version. New browsers fully support HTML5 and CSS3, Web technologies that serve as a foundation for most new websites, including the website of the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces.

Other reasons to upgrade your browsers are:

  • Newer browsers are much less vulnerable to viruses, spyware, malware or other security issues.
  • Newer browsers load pages more quickly.
  • Newer Browsers are less likely to freeze or crash.
  • Newer browsers will automatically update to the latest version, or will notify you to download an update.

To help you determine if an updated version of your browser is available, see this Web page http://whatbrowser.org/
