Corporate Secretariat
The Corporate Secretariat supports the Department by providing portfolio coordination, executive and ministerial services; coordination of cabinet and parliamentary affairs, and management of Access to Information and Privacy Act requests.
EI Premium Reduction
Employers who provide their employees with a short term disability plan meeting specific requirements may request a reduction in their Employment Insurance premiums.
Employment Insurance
Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary financial assistance for unemployed Canadians while they look for work or upgrade their skills, as well as Canadians who are sick, pregnant or caring for a newborn or adopted child, or need to care for a family member who is seriously ill with a significant risk of death. Employment Programs
Employment Programs manages several programs aimed at facilitating the interaction between those seeking employment and those seeking employees. Forms contained in this section are for use by prospective employers.
  • Common Experience Program
    The Common Experience Payment (CEP) is a component of the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement. The CEP recognizes the experience of residing at an Indian Residential School and its impacts. Eligible applicants may receive $10,000 for the first school year (or partial school year) of residence at one or more residential schools, plus an additional $3,000 for each subsequent school year (or partial school year) of residence at one or more residential schools. Eligible recipients will receive a one-time payment of their full CEP entitlement.
  • Disability
    The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is a long-term savings vehicle to help you, your child, your family and others save for the long-term financial security of a person with a severe disability. Contributions to an RDSP could be supplemented by Canada Disability Savings Grants from the Government of Canada. The Canada Disability Savings Bond is also available for low-income families even if no contributions are made.
  • Youth
    The Youth Employment Strategy (YES) is the Government of Canada's commitment to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition to the workplace.
Federal Income Support for Parents of Murdered or Missing Children
Going through the tragedy of the loss of a child that is murdered or missing can leave you grief stricken and unable to work. The Federal Income Support for Parents of Murdered or Missing Children (PMMC) grant is available to assist with your financial needs while you are coping with this tragedy. It is available to eligible parents who have lost income from taking time away from work to cope with the death or disappearance of their child as a result of a probable Criminal Code offence.
Foreign Worker Program
Every year, Canadian employers hire thousands of foreign workers to help address skill and labour shortages.
Human Resources and Skills Development Canada(HRSDC) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) work to ensure that foreign workers will support economic growth in Canada and help create job opportunities for all Canadians.
Government Annuities
The Government Annuities forms in this section are used by Annuitants or employers with registered employees who have Annuities under payment or payable in the future.

The Income Security Program forms will allow you to apply for benefits under Canada's various retirement income programs.
  • Canada Pension Plan
    The Canada Pension Plan is a contributory, earnings-related social insurance program. It ensures a measure of protection to a contributor and his or her family against the loss of income due to retirement, disability and death.

  • International Benefits - Application Forms for Canadian Benefits
    If you have lived or worked in another country, or you are the surviving spouse or common-law partner of someone who has lived or worked in another country, you may be eligible for benefits from Canada. Additional application forms for benefits from Canada, under social security agreements, will be posted as they become available. If the application form for Canadian benefits for the country in which you reside is not yet available on this site, please contact your nearest social security office to obtain one.
  • International Benefits - Application Forms for Foreign Benefits
    If you have lived or worked in another country, or you are the surviving spouse or common-law partner of someone who has lived or worked in another country, you may be eligible for benefits from that country. Additional application forms for benefits from other countries, under social security agreements, will be posted as they become available. If the application forms for another country's benefits are not available on this site, please complete the Interim Application for Foreign Benefits under an Agreement on Social Security (ISP5005).
  • Old Age Security
    The Old Age Security program is one of the cornerstones of Canada's retirement income system. Benefits include the basic Old Age Security pension, the Guaranteed Income Supplement and the Allowance.
Labour
The Labour Program focuses on the workplace, the changes affecting the workplace and the needs of employers and employees in Canada.
  • Dispute Resolution
    The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) is responsible for providing dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code. It also manages the Labour-Management Partnerships Program, which provides seed funding for innovative projects designed to improve labour-management relationships.
  • Fire Protection
    The Fire Prevention staff, as the federal government's technical authority on fire protection, are responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Treasury Board policy, standards and those codes and regulations that cover fire protection under the Canada Labour Code.
  • Injury Compensation
    Occupational Health and Safety Occupational health and safety in federal works, undertakings and businesses is governed by Part II of the Canada Labour Code (CLC). More specifically, the legislation is intended to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in, the course of employment.

  • Wage Earner Protection Program
    The Wage Earner Protection Program (WEPP) reimburses eligible workers for unpaid wages and vacation pay they are owed when their employer declares bankruptcy or becomes subject to a receivership.
  • Workplace Equity
    The Labour Standards and Workplace Equity Directorate is a national clearinghouse of Employment Equity technical expertise. We provide information to employers on equal pay and employment equity as well as offer tools and resources for the implementation of employment equity in the workplace. The Employment Equity Computerized Reporting System (EECRS) provides a fast and easy way for the user to capture and compile employee data, then generates the Employment Equity Forms required by the Division. As a precaution, we have also supplied you with a blank version of each form on this site.
Social Insurance Number
The Social Insurance Number section provides an Application for a Social Insurance Number Card which you may complete on your computer before you print it and submit it in person or by mail.
Supplemental unemployment benefit plan
Employers may provide a Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) plan to their employees. These plans provide supplemental payments to employees during a period of unemployment due to temporary stoppage of work, training, illness, injury or quarantine. Payments from registered SUB plans are not deducted from a claimant’s employment insurance (EI) benefits. To register their SUB plans, employers must complete a SUB Plan Registration form.
