The Kativik Regional Police Force regains authority over policing services in Nunavik

Kuujjuaq, Québec – November 16, 2006 –The Kativik Regional Police Force (KRPF) has progressively regained authority over policing services in Nunavik’s 14 Northern villages. As of today, the Sûreté du Québec is transferring authority to the KRPF in the last community of Kuujjuaq. On November 10th 2006, the Sûreté du Québec pulled out of the three communities of Kangirsuk, Kangirsujuaq and Ivujivik.
