Farm data and farm operator data

Farm data and farm operator data, available now, provide information on all farm and farm operator variables for 2006 and 2001 to the census division level. For the census consolidated subdivisions, only the data for 2006 is published.

Farm variables include: number and type of farms; crop and land use areas; land management practices; organic products; numbers of livestock and poultry; farm machinery and equipment; computer use; farm capital; farm operating expenses and receipts; and farm-related injuries.

Farm operator variables include: age, sex, residence status, farm and non-farm work.

Agriculture–Population Linkage data for the 2006 Census

The newest data from the Agriculture–Population Linkage Database, Agriculture–Population Linkage data for the 2006 Census, provide a socio-economic profile of Canada’s farm population, farm operators and their families. The linkages combine data from the Census of Agriculture with data from the Census of Population.
