Canada’s national women’s hockey team

In 2015, Canada will host the Americas for the Toronto 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games. Sport Canada is playing a key role in coordinating the Government of Canada’s investment of up to $500 million in the Games, which will offer an exceptional opportunity to showcase Canadian sport excellence and create lasting sport legacies for all Canadians.

Hosting Program contributions for Canadian Sport Events, such as the Canada Games to be held in Sherbrooke, Quebec, during the summer of 2013, and Prince George, British Columbia, during the winter of 2015, provide opportunities for Canada to showcase its excellence in sport on a national stage.

Sport Canada also plays a significant role in other Major Multi-Sport Events such as the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, in 2014, where Canadians will represent Canada on the international stage.
