  1. RCSU ATLANTIC has a Class B Temporary for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 00232-02-CIC - LAND, or 00360-01-COATS-GS OFF to commence on 23-DEC-2013 until 22-DEC-2014. Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service.

      Members whose substantive rank is one rank lower and who are eligible for promotion may apply and members whose substantive rank is one rank higher may apply but, if selected, will be required to voluntarily relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.

    7. Required experience and quals:
      • Competency Remarks:
        • 1. Must hold a valid DND 404 or be able to acquire and maintain;

          2. Enhanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in the English language;

          3. Minimum two years experience organizing and managing army cadet expedition training;

          4. Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite applications to produce effective staff documents;

          5. Must be able to lift and load/unload equipment;

          6. Must be able to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation;

          7. Must be able to travel frequently in a motor vehicle for durations of up to 6 hours driving time;

          8. Must be able to deal with periods of stress as a result of deadlines, client inquiries, and unforeseen daily occurrences;

          9. Must be available for temporary duty throughout the year for periods of up to a week, as required, including evenings and many weekends and employment at a Cadet Summer Training Centre if required.

          10. Able to participate in outdoor adventure training activities, including Camping, Backpacking, Cycling, Paddling and activities involving heights.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    • A. Post secondary education, preferably related to outdoor recreation programs;

      B. Experience as a Commanding Officer and/or Training Officer of an Army Cadet Corps;

      C. Staff experience at the Regional, National and/or Detachment levels;

      D. Experience as a Section Head (Captain position) at a CSTC;

      E. Special Project and/or Working Group experience;

      F. Financial Management experience;

      G. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Fortress; and

      H. Expedition Leader Course.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Regional Cadet Expedition Training Officer is responsible for the oversight of the Regional Cadet Land Training School Expedition Centres and for the planning and execution of Zone, Regional, National and International Expedition activities and Army Cadet Orienteering Championships within Atlantic Region.
