I don't want my information in the name and address database. How do I opt out?
As a consumer or a business, you can submit an online form to opt out of receiving targeted advertising from third parties who use the Canada Post Name and Address Database.
Please note the following about opting out:
- It may take up to 10 business days to take effect.
- Due to marketing campaigns already started, you may receive marketing mail for up to 90 days after you opt out.
- Your name and address will be removed from the database for 3 years.
- After 3 years, or if you move, you will need to submit another form.
- You cannot opt-out of the database we use to move the mail
What you can do
- Opt out of Canada Post's name and address database.
- Limit the advertising mail you receive by registering for the Canadian Marketing Association's Do Not Contact Service.
- Reduce telemarketing calls by registering for the National Do Not Call List.
- Read the Canada Post Online Privacy Statement.
