ABOUT THE DESIGN
- This domestic stamp features an illustration by Louis Hébert based off a photo taken by Bill Newton in 1948—the year Scott won her Olympic gold medal.
- On the stamp, Scott embodies the grace and elegance of movement in figure skating. Smiling, with her white skating dress and skates, she looks like she has just completed her routine.
- The cover of the booklet shows another Bill Newton photo from 1948. Scott is on the ice, executing a jump, looking strong yet graceful.
- The back cover of the booklet shows a youthful portrait taken in 1946 by renowned Canadian photographer, Yousuf Karsh.
- Highlights of Scott’s amazing career are included on the inside and back of the booklet, which was designed by Montreal’s Paprika.
