I've been at CMHC for 7 months now, and I see a lot of opportunities opening up, such as mortgage loan insurance, securitization, assisted housing. Working in model vetting, we get an opportunity to really look into detailed analysis of what each sector does with their models. That provides me a great opportunity to learn more about each sector.
CMHC has a lot to offer. They offer language training. They offer professional training for your own development. More than that, they offer opportunities to socialize with your colleagues. I took advantage of the curling league, which gave me a chance to really know my coworkers a little better.
CMHC has a presence from coast to coast across Canada. So, for example, if I wanted to move to the west coast and experience life there, CMHC would provide that opportunity for me.
What really attracted me to CMHC was that our bottom line was to help Canadians. It wasn't to maximize profits, but to really make sure that every Canadian has an opportunity to be housed.
