Two parents and their newborn son have become viral sensations after the little one decided to empty his bladder during a family photo shoot.

The fateful image was snapped during a newborn photo shoot at the studios of Abbie Rogers Photography in Laurel, Indiana. In the photograph, the couple stands topless, the father behind the mother and the mother with her baby son cradled in her arms. It could have been an adorable shot, but for one key detail: a long stream of urine forming an arch across the foreground of the photo. When a baby’s gotta go, he’s gotta go. The father has a wide-eyed look of shock and the mother appears to be suppressing a giggle.

The photographer, Abbie Rogers, posted the photo to her Facebook page on March 4, along with the caption, “So …. This happened today! In case anyone wants to know what really happens during a newborn session.”

As it turns out, people do want to know. The image has been liked more that two thousand times and has been featured on news websites and television programs around the world.

Indeed, it is an amusing photo, and yet judging by the comments, it seems that many viewers were most impressed by Rogers’ impeccable timing. Writes Abby Custer:

“The more I stare at this, the more in awe I am. It really couldn’t be any more perfectly awesome.”

While it is indeed an awesome photo, there’s no denying that it required some cleanup. So how did the family react to the sudden fountain of urine taking centre stage in the family photo shoot?

“When you have little boys this happens a lot and this was the couple’s third boy so it wasn’t really a shock. We all had quite a good laugh,” Rogers told the Daily Mail.

She also told the Mail that because the shoots are long, the babies soil themselves pretty much one hundred percent of the time. In fact, this family got lucky — Rogers says that most of the time, it’s number two.
