Special effects team posts gruesome clip of a fake wound being made

No matter how many times you’re told it’s not real, when it’s done right, seeing stuff like this will easily make the faint of heart shy away – or possibly lose their lunch.

Yes, if you’re squeamish, now is the time to look elsewhere.

Kiana Jones of YouTube channel ‘Freakmo’ has teamed up with fellow make-up FX YouTuber Marc Clancy of ‘Powdah FX’ to bring us her latest video tutorial on creating a horribly infected knee with prosthetic movie make-up.

As noted earlier, this is entirely all fake. But as you start the video, it opens like a surgical scene in a horror movie akin to the Saw franchise. So if that sort of stuff isn’t your bag, this video is definitely not for you.

The entire process is meticulously detailed by Jones, whom you can tell is genuinely fascinated with all the fake blood and gore.

Warning: Some may find this video, well… gross.

It’s to be expected that this tutorial is really aimed at FX make-up veterans who are very into the craft. But Jones details all the necessary materials and tools to create such a piece, so any intrepid creative types looking to get in to it will be much better equipped.

Heavy metal drummer absolutely slays ‘I’m a Little Teapot’

[A new heavy metal classic/YouTube/Joey Muha]

A heavy metal drummer has taken to YouTube to release his rendition of the childhood classic “I’m a little teapot”. The unlikely juxtaposition actually works well, thanks to drummer Joey Muha’s precision and skill.

Sitting away from the camera, Muha perfectly embodies a metal drummer in tight black jeans, no shirt and long hair that’s ideal for banging his head around. As he slams on his kit, resembling Animal from the Muppets, the sweet song can be heard playing perfectly in sync.

Commenters on YouTube were equally impressed as they were confused.

“Should I be rocking out n start a mosh pit? Do I sing along with my niece?? I’m so confused,” wrote commenter only half bad

“Ear to ear, the joker would be jealous, that was amazing,” remarked Linear Prime.

“Aw, I saw the title and thought it would be a robot,” wrote Ironflange, referencing the video’s title, I’m A Little Teapot Drumming.

“I think your videos should be played at all day care centers,” suggested USMCA7X.

Those impressed with Muha’s skills take note: According to his Facebook page, he spends a lot of time touring on the road. However, he generally plays bars, and not nursery schools.

Shhhh: Amusement park bans people from screaming on rollercoaster

image

[It’s THE BIG ONE!!!! Oops, I mean *whispers* The big one/Facebook/The Big Sheep Family Attraction]

Riding a rollercoaster and screaming your head off usually go hand-in-hand. But this amusement park in the U.K. wants to divorce the two in their new ban.

The Big Sheep amusement park is urging its park-goers to stay as quiet as possible while riding their newest ride titled “The Big One,” in order to not tick off the neighbours, reports the Mirror.co.uk.

According to the website, residents near the amusement park and The Big Sheep went toe to toe during a five year planning stage, where residents said that the ride would be “intrusive.”

In an attempt to combat the noise pollution, the ride, that was opened less than a week ago, comes with a sign that reads: “This is a family ride – not a white knuckle thrill ride. Enjoy the views but we love our neighbours. PLEASE DO NOT SHOUT OR SCREAM!”

But on the amusement park’s website, where the new roller coaster is being promoted, they sing a slightly different tune. There, the new rollercoaster is described as the “biggest, highest and fastest roller coaster North Devon has ever seen.”

The park’s director Rick Turner said they worked with specialist noise consultants “to ensure there are bounds to reduce any noise impact,” reports thesun.co.uk.

And while that all sounds dandy on paper, Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain boss Andy Hine doesn’t think banning people from making noise on a rollercoaster will pan out.

“Rollercoasters evoke excitement, adrenalin and fear,” he said. “Part of this is the reaction it causes and this can be laughter, both happy and nervous, cheering and screaming.”

“I cannot see any way that a non-screaming rule can be enforced.”

Kid’s answer to math problem was marked wrong but the Internet disagrees

[The deliciously frustrating math problem/Yahoo Canada]

There are times when even a math teacher can be wrong, specifically when it comes to marking answers as incorrect. But for this kid that gave an “incorrect” answer to a math question, the Internet is coming to the rescue.

The following math problem was recently shared to Reddit with the caption “The American education system” and it instantly incited a flurry of confusion.

The questions reads: “Reasonableness: Marty ate 4/6 of his pizza and Luis ate 5/6 of his pizza. Marty ate more pizza than Luis. How is that possible?”

The student answered: “Marty’s pizza is bigger than Luis’s pizza.”

For many, the student’s response makes sense but the teacher ended up marking the answer incorrect because “5/6 is greater than 4/6 so Luis ate more.”

Redditors were quick to question the teacher’s correction and the overall wording of the math problem.

User AllUltima wrote: “This question is terribly worded,” and added that “Marty has a bigger pizza” is a “perfectly logical conclusion to the question as worded.”

Other Reddit users offered their own versions of a correctly worded question. “Marty and Luis have pizzas of the same size. Luis eats 4/6 of his pizza. Marty eats 5/6 of his pizza. Luis ate more pizza than Marty, is this possible?” wrote ConstableBlimeyChips.

Either way, the student still came out on top as one user pointed out, “the kid is actually pretty smart.” Now, let’s hope the teacher reconsiders and gives the student credit.

Sixth grader turns lemonade stand into million-dollar deal

[Mikaila Ulmer/CBS News]

Running a lemonade stand is something most children do at one point in their lives, but this sixth grader turned it into a million dollar deal.

At the tender age of 11, Mikaila Ulmer is already a social entrepreneur, bee ambassador, educator and a student.

After appearing on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” last year and getting $60,000 for her startup, Mikaila’s BeeSweet lemonade will be sold in 55 Whole Food stores – with the grocery store going as far as offering her a $1 million deal, reports NBC News.

And while she may only in the sixth grade, instead of charging a quarter for a cup of lemonade on her front lawn, Mikaila has been refining the six figure idea for more than half of her life.

The idea for the lemonade stemmed from a time when Mikaila was only four-years-old, and was thinking of a product she could make for a children’s business competition.

And instead of getting hit with an idea, she got stung by a bee… twice.

Around this time she got a family cookbook from her great grandma, which included her special recipe for flaxseed lemonade, she shared on the website.

Mikaila, who didn’t enjoy the bee sting in the slightest, had something else come about from the incident: fascination. She became so enticed with the bees that she thought “what if I make something that helps honeybees and uses my Great Granny Helen’s recipe?”

So to sweeten the lemonade they use local honey. A percentage of her profits go towards saving the honeybees, which is why she says “buy a bottle… save a bee.”

Today you can find the cheery 11-year-old leading workshops on how to save the honeybees and participating in social entrepreneurship panels, reports NBC News.

And her mom, D’Andra Ulmer, is nothing but proud.

“I’m impressed with how she gets her homework done during her travels,” she told the news outlet. “She has a gift for public speaking but what makes me very proud is that she is not only a smart entrepreneur but she’s a good person and she’s kind to people. That’s more important than business.”

Frozen yogurt shop offers hilariously inventive list of discounts

[Dressing up like Bjorn Borg gets you 25 per cent off/Allsport UK/ALLSPORT/Getty Images]

A frozen yogurt shop in Washington, D.C., is clearly in the business of having fun. A photo of a list of discount options from Mr. Yogato is going viral, because it’s far more intensive than getting your frequent customer card stamped.

If you’re well-versed in “Seinfeld” trivia, or the Sterling battlefield speech from “Braveheart,” you’re in luck. Stumping an employee named Steve with your knowledge on the show about nothing will get you 10 per cent off, while reciting the famous speech will get you 20 per cent off.

[Anyone know where the Soup Nazi is these days?/imgur/c1010010]

If you sing “Mr. Roboto,” you’re entitled to 10 per cent off. Same thing goes if you show up wearing a kickball outfit with evidence you’ve played hard (dirt on the knees is apparently substantial evidence.) If dancing is more your thing, reenact the entire 47-second dance from the “Thriller” video and you’re good for 20 per cent off.

The real prizes involve a bit more effort: if you bring in a minor character from “Seinfeld” and get them to pose with the store’s tie for a photo, you’re entitled to 10 free yogurts or all-you-can-eat for a week! Or, if you create an edible Yogato pasta structure, you’ll get a discount in percentage points equal to its height.

It’s unclear how many flavours you’re allowed to sample before cashing in your prize.

Man’s journey into abandoned online game turns into real-life ghost story

One man’s exploration of a deserted online world turned from mildly interesting to full-on creepy when he encountered an unexpected stranger.

YouTube user vinesauce was exploring a massive multiplayer online game (MMO) called Active Worlds and live-streaming it to YouTube. The game is from 1995 would probably be deserted, vinesauce thought. The virtual explorer regularly checks out weird games, reports Kotaku.com, so it isn’t that surprising that he was hanging out in a relatively ancient digital world completely devoid of players.

Then something strange happened. A figure called ‘Hitomi Fujiko’ began talking to him.

At first vinesauce, thinks that Fujiko is a non-player character (NPC) that has been preprogrammed to respond to typed cues with scripted statements. In the beginning of their exchange, the dialogue between the two seems to support this assumption but, after a while, Fujiko begins saying things that makes vinesauce suspect that the figure is a real person.

Things get weirder still when Fujiko begins questioning his own existence.

Fujiko: “There can’t be more than one wanderer of these empty lands.”

Vinny: “I AM the only wanderer here. You aren’t real.”

Fujiko: “I am real.”

Fujiko: “I am real, aren’t I?”

Vinny: “I don’t know. I don’t KNOW.”

Fujiko: “Please tell me I exist.”

Yes, we know it’s just an old ’90s online game, but we challenge you to watch the video and not get weirdly creeped out.

So who is this Fujiko character and how did he end up meeting vinesauce in an otherwise deserted world?

One gamer went to the trouble of tracking down some old Active Worlds players, who said that Fujiko was a ‘known troublemaker.’ The theory is that Fujiko was watching vinesauce’s livestream and saw that he had wandered into a part of Active World that Fujiko had helped construct. Then he logged in and did everything possible to scare the explorer.

Other sleuths on Reddit unearthed his website and discovered all kinds of hidden messages and cryptic clues hidden in the code, among them, ‘just you wait human’ and ‘I CANNOT FEEL.’ He also included references to the date April 4, 2016, so maybe he’s got something bigger and even stranger planned.

We kind of hope so.

Shocking footage captures moment toddler accidentally wanders into an armed robbery

image

[Video shows a toddler accidentally walking into an armed robbery in a Brazilian pharmacy / YouTube]

A terrifying scenario could of become even worse after one oblivious toddler wandered into the middle of an armed robbery.

This security footage captures the tense moments of an armed robbery that took place in a Brazilian pharmacy located in city of Goiania, reports The Mirror.

The grainy footage shows a lone gunman entering the pharmacy and pulling out his firearm, ordering both staff and concerned customers to the ground.

Already an extremely tense situation, things in an instant go from bad to worse when a small toddler suddenly enters the frame. Apparently the young child saw the open doorway of the store and decided to investigate, coming within mere feet of the armed assailant.

The robber at first simply ignores the new development, perhaps concerned more with his task at hand, but becomes seemingly more agitated after noticing the mother enter the store to look for her child as well.

The footage thankfully ends with nobody being hurt, and instead the mother and child are only ordered into the corner of the store as the robber flees from the scene.

No arrests have been made yet in connection to the robbery, and local police are reportedly still investigating the incident.

Japan’s office chair race is as grueling as it is hilarious

On the surface, Japan’s office chair grand prix is about as dorky a race as you could encounter. But look a little closer, and you’ll find that the “Isu-1 Grand Prix” is a thrilling, nail-biter of a competition filled with hairpin turns, dangerous spills and ridiculous costumes.

The sixth annual edition of the contest took place March 26 in Kyotanabe prefecture, and the following photos show that the competition was intense.

The race’s founder, shop-owner Tsuyoshi Tahara, created the event to attract attention to the Kirara shopping arcade after customers began heading to new malls in the area, reports Upworthy.com. The race was such a success that it is now held in 12 different prefectures in Japan, and shopkeepers in Tainan, Taiwan are hosting the first international race on April 24, reports the Asahi Shinbun.

The race is set up as an endurance test. Participants compete in teams of three and to circle an 18-metre course as many times as they can in two hours.

There are a few rules: the chairs cannot be modified (although humorous decorations are allowed) and teams can prepare a spare chair that can be entered in the race if the original is destroyed. Protective headgear and elbow and knee pads are encouraged.

Some competitors come dressed in full athletic gear, while others sport a more business casual look. After all, these racers are riding office chairs.

And although the mode of transportation in this race isn’t a Formula 1 race car, that hasn’t stopped Tahara from having grand ambitions.

“Sometime in the future, I want to hold one in Monaco,” Tahara told Japanrealm.com. “Like an F-1 Grand Prix.”

Boy finds glasses in Cadbury Twirl Easter egg

[Ollie’s cousin informed Cadbury of the good / Metro.co.uk]

When 4-year-old Ollie Sehmi opened up his Twirl Easter egg, he and his family were pretty shocked to find a pair of glasses among his goodies, reports Metro.co.uk.

Charlotte Garner, Ollie’s cousin, took to Cadbury’s Facebook page to inform them of their discovery, writing: “Just opened my Easter Egg and one of your workers must have left their glasses and now I have them.”

Most of the commenters seem amused with the little blunder, with one of them commenting: “I’m guessing Cadbury didn’t see that one coming.”

Although it has produced more laughs than not, some were skeptical of the authenticity of the photo, thinking that Garner was just out to get likes.

“Or you just put [the glasses] there to get attention on Facebook?” one user commented.

Ollie’s mom, who bought him the egg, told Metro.co.uk that finding the glasses was “hilarious” and that she “could not believe it.”

Cadbury has yet to make a statement about the bizarre ordeal, and the original photo that was posted to their UK Facebook account has been taken down.
