Royal Salute (sheet music)

Approved by Her Majesty in 1968, the Royal Salute is a musical greeting and mark of respect. It is performed whenever the Lieutenant Governor attends an official event.

The salute consists of the first six bars of the Royal Anthem – God Save the Queen – followed by the first four and last four bars of O Canada.

The Royal Salute was known formerly as the vice-regal salute.

Note: For a pipe band, a combination of 'Mallorca' and 'O Canada' is played for the Royal Salute.
