Registry of Motor Vehicles – 3% Fee Increase June 1, 2015
Please be advised, effective June 1, 2015 Registry of Motor Vehicles fees will increase by 3%.

The Acadian flag licence plate is now available from from any Access Nova Scotia or Registry of Motor Vehicles Office.
The province has redesigned vehicle licence plates issued to cars, vans, trucks and trailers. The new design will be more modern and will provide improved visibility.
The province has introduced new driver's licences and ID cards with enhanced security features to better protect the personal identity of Nova Scotians.
Harmonized Sales Tax Rate Effective July 1, 2010 the Provincial Portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) was increased from 8% to 10%. Therefore, effective July 1, 2010 the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and the Nova Scotia Sales Tax (NSST) will be increased from 13% to 15%.
