MyHealthNS is a free personal health information tool available to every resident of Nova Scotia. If your doctor is online and you have activated a connection on MyHealthNS, they can send secure electronic copies of your results and reports they have ordered for you. This can include lab tests, diagnostic imaging results, and some specialist reports.
As announced in August, the vendor that operates MyHealthNS informed the province it would not be renewing its contract to operate MyHealthNS. The contract will end on March 31, 2020.
The final day for access to the MyHealthNS system for health care providers will be March 27, 2020. For patients, access will continue until March 31, 2020.
Patients will be provided instructions on how to download their data and reminders of the March 31 deadline. After this date, all data will be securely and permanently destroyed by McKesson Canada. The Department of Health and Wellness will receive a certificate of destruction.
