The Women's Health Centre at the Regina General Hospital is an outpatient clinic that provides a variety of services for women in a confidential, safe and supportive environment.

Our services include:
  • Colposcopy (abnormal pap investigations)
  • Gynecological procedures including hysteroscopy (scope of the uterus), uterine ablations and transobturator tape procedure (for urinary stress incontinence) 
  • Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC)
  • Abortion Services
  • Pregnancy options counseling provided by our Medical Social Worker, for those faced with an unplanned pregnancy situation and are undecided.
Hours of operation:
Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Closed on weekends and statutory holidays.

Please note: A referral is needed to be seen for Colposcopy, Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic and Gynecology services (including hysteroscopy, uterine ablation and tubal inserts).

Abortion Services

Two types of abortion services offered at the Women's Health Centre, medical (where medication is taken to stop pregnancy growth) and surgical termination, done as a day surgery by suction D&C (dilation and curettage). Appointments

The Women's Health Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For pregnancy options counseling and abortion services no referral is necessary.

Bearing Loss Support Group

A support group for families grieving perinatal loss.

Colposcopy

The purpose of colposcopy is to look with high magnification, at the cervix (the opening to the uterus), vulva or vagina. Most often women are referred to colposcopy after having an abnormal Pap test.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC)

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC) is an outpatient clinic in the Women’s Health Centre at the Regina General Hospital. The clinic sees women by referral who are early (less than 20 weeks) in their pregnancy who are having problems such as pain or bleeding or have been diagnosed with a pregnancy loss, or miscarriage.
