Features

On-time delivery guarantee

Be assured your delivery will arrive on time. If it doesn't, you’ll receive replacement service or credit equivalent to the shipping charges.

Tracking, delivery updates and delivery confirmation

Both shipper and recipient can track delivery progress with a unique tracking number. You can also track from Canada Post’s mobile app or receive email notifications.

Liability coverage up to $100²

Ship confidently with up to $100 liability coverage against loss or damage. If you are sending valuable items, you can purchase additional liability coverage for extra peace of mind.

Signature³

Ensures a personal hand-off of the item at delivery. The name of the signatory is recorded as well as the signature.

Hassle-free U.S. and international customs clearance

Any duty or tax owing will be collected from the recipient upon delivery.

Depending on your needs, you can also choose from the following value-added options, which are available for an additional fee.

Return to sender

Canada Post will attempt to deliver all parcels. If a delivery cannot be completed, the parcel will be safely returned to you. Associated parcel return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Signature by hard copy⁴

If you require a hard copy of the name and signature of the person who signed for the item, you can get it free online, or have a copy sent to you for a fee.

Collect on Delivery (COD) up to $5,000 (up to $ 1,000 cash)

A resident of the address must pay the COD amount before the shipment is handed over. Available for shipments within Canada only.

Value-added options for business customers only

The following value-added options are available for an additional fee if you are a member of Solutions for Small Business™, or have a commercial account with Canada Post.

Reference number tracking

You can associate your own internal reference number or reference name to a shipment when creating the shipping label. Available for shipments within Canada only.

Flexible delivery options

Leave at door^{5, 6}

If no one answers the door, the delivery agent will look for a safe location on the receiver’s property. If not available, the item will be left at a local post office for pickup.

Card (hold) for pickup⁵

A delivery notice card will be left for the addressee and the item will be forwarded to the designated post office. Ideal for shipments containing temperature-sensitive items.

Do not safe drop^{5, 6}

If the item does not fit in the mail receptacle and if no one answers the door, a delivery notice card will be left and the addressee will be able to pick up the item at the designated post office.

Deliver to post office⁵

Your online consumers can choose to have their items delivered to a post office of their preference, such as near their work or cottage.

Available for shipments within Canada only.

Parcel return labels⁵

Simplify customer returns with Canada Post. We offer several options for collecting returns and exchanges of online purchases. All parcel return labels contain a unique tracking number and barcode, which allow return shipments to be tracked. You will be charged only if your parcel return label is used.

Signature and identity services

Available for shipments within Canada only.

Proof of age⁵

Protect your business by ensuring that when the receiver appears to be less than 25 years of age, valid photo ID is requested.

Proof of identity^{5, 7}

Proof of identity gets in-person authentication of the intended recipient. It is ideal for large shippers of valuable documents or merchandise such as credit cards, identity cards and high-value goods.
