Winter is coming for Yukon Info.com and that’s a good thing for Jon Snow doppelganger Graham White, his equalizing goal Saturday morning made it 5-5 in sumptuous game in the over 35’s soccer league.

What a goal it was. White picked up the ball just outside the area, he burned past two defenders, then sent an unstoppable shot past keeper Cory Adams. Only moments before Klondike Business Solutions thought they had won it with only a couple of minutes left on the clock, when Justin Carre picked up his fourth goal of the game, with a looping header that went through Jan Aalt van den Hoorn in the Yukon Info net.

White’s goal earned Yukon Info’s first point of the season, and left KBS still searching for their first win. Eric Murphy playing a sub, set up three goals for Carre and got one himself, while James Wigmore had another eye catching game for Yukon Info.com. Lethal Jim Brown picked up two goals, skipper George Maratos continued his scoring streak with another and Oscar Rodriquez got his first goal in the Whitehorse Rapids league since joining.

Driving Force ends Pepsi’s
100 per cent start

Dale Cheeseman’s Driving Force team dented Pepsi’s league title aspirations, when they held them to a 3-3 tie at the Canada Games Centre.

Driving Force welcomed back Ben Mercier into the fold, but were thankful to the ever resourceful Myles Dolphin for two excellent strikes and a Phil Jackson break away goal which he snaffled at the second attempt. At this stage of the game it was difficult to see how Pepsi would get back into it. The Force had most of the possession and were dictating play, conjuring a lot of chances. However, Pepsi is a second half team.

They pressed and harried the Driving Force team, compelling them into making mistakes and sapping their energy levels.

In Danny Macdonald and Mehrdad Tigar, Pepsi have a duo that would make Barcelona quake, and through them they exploited the wilting Driving Force defence, going through the gears to produce soccer of an incredibly high standard.

Skipper Macdonald got one and Mehrdad grabbed two and celebrated in front of the hoards of adoring fans that turn up to watch him play.

Pepsi still lead the league with 10 points going into their bye week followed by Yukon Brewing and Driving force with 4 points.
