Prince Edward Island Court of Appeal

The Court of Appeal is the highest court in the province.

Generally, the Court hears appeals from the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island in all matters and the provincial court in some criminal matters. It also hears appeals and reviews from provincial administrative boards and tribunals and addresses references from Executive Council and some provincial administrative boards and tribunals.

The Prince Edward Island Court of Appeal is constituted by the Judicature Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. J-2.1. This Act provides for a Chief Justice and two other justices, as well as supernumerary justices.
