The Honourable Caroline Mulroney, Attorney General for Ontario, has announced the appointment of a new case management master to the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, effective October 10, 2018.

Case Management Master Jay Josefo was called to the bar in 1990. A diverse legal practitioner, his experience spans civil litigation, labour and employment law, and human rights law. Most recently, Master Josefo acted as counsel for Ricketts, Harris LLP. He has also served as a part-time vice chair for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal since 1999.

Master Josefo has served on the board of directors for both the National Research Council of Canada and the East York Access Centre. He has also volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society, organizing community fundraising events.

Case management masters may hear certain matters in civil cases, including motions, references, pre-trials and case conferences. Case management masters may also preside over Construction Act matters and serve as registrars under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
