New Judge Appointed to the Ontario Court Of Justice

Ministry of the Attorney General

The Honourable Caroline Mulroney, Attorney General for Ontario, has announced the appointment of a new judge to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective September 26, 2018.

Justice Maria N. Sirivar was called to the bar in 2007 and since then has practiced family and labour law. She worked as a partner in various organizations until 2012 when she founded her own practice, Sirivar Law. Prior to her appointment, Justice Sirivar also acted as an agent for the Office of the Children's Lawyer and as duty counsel in Milton. A founding member of the Sanyu Youth Foundation, Justice Sirivar has directed and implemented initiatives that benefit at-risk youth in Canada and around the world. She has also volunteered her time within the legal community working with the Pro Bono Law program at the Hospital for Sick Children, as a coach and advisor for the Law Society of Ontario, and as a Legal Aid Ontario mentor.

Chief Justice Lise Maisonneuve has assigned Justice Sirivar to preside in Toronto.
