2018
One of the top overall scores in mobile banking functionality and user experience
CIBC was one of 2 banks to earn the highest overall score in The Forrester Banking WaveTM: Canadian Mobile Apps, Q2 2018 report. CIBC’s solid showing across the board included citations for offering a consistently good user experience and the ability to set multiple savings goals. The report evaluated 6 large Canadian banks' mobile apps across 64 criteria.
One of Canada's Best 50 Corporate Citizens
CIBC was selected by Corporate Knights as one of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada, marking the eleventh time the bank has made the list since the annual ranking began in 2002.
Diamond Award Winner for Client Experience
For the second consecutive year, CIBC was named a North American Diamond Award winner by Clarabridge for a Customer Experience program that demonstrates vision, strategy, execution and results.
Best Branch Strategy

Recognized for inclusive leadership
CIBC has been recognized for the third consecutive year as a member of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI) for our commitment to inclusion. The index measures gender equality across internal company statistics, employee policies, external community support and engagement, and gender-conscious product offerings.

Index members are assessed for the quality of their strategy, management, and performance in dealing with economic, environmental and social opportunities and risks relative to their industry peers. CIBC has been a member since the index’s inception in 2005.

Highest overall score in online banking functionality
CIBC earned the highest overall score for the fourth consecutive year in Forrester Research Inc.’s 2017 Canadian Online Banking Functionality Benchmark report. CIBC earned among the highest marks for Login, Self-service features and eDelivery in the assessment of online banking functionality of Canada’s 6 largest retail banks.

CIBC was named among the 2017 Big Five Bank winners in the Ipsos Best Banking Awards in the categories of: Financial Planning & Advice, Mobile Banking Excellence, Automated Telephone Banking Excellence, Interest Rates & Service Charges.

Forrester Research used their Mobile Banking Benchmark methodology to evaluate the retail mobile banking services of the 5 largest banks in Canada.2 CIBC leads the group with useful and usable mobile services.
Retail Bank of the Year in North America
Retail Banker International recognized CIBC for digital innovations including allowing customers to open accounts on their phone, use voice commands for basic transactions as well as digitizing the mortgage application process.
