“Every year I participate in Covenant House’s Sleep Out, spending the night outside to experience what some youth in the city live like everyday. That night motivates me to make a difference. I believe all youth should feel safe and supported.
Covenant House — it’s more than a homeless shelter — there’s a school, career programs and incredible staff that are dedicated to ending the cycle of poverty. The Covenant House staff work tirelessly to create a place where all youth are welcome and helped to reintegrate into the community with the skills they need to be successful and independent. I feel inspired to take action and try to make an impact within this special community.
I sleep outside because everyone deserves a warm place to call home. By organizing events, recruiting volunteers and spearheading Team CIBC’s involvement in the yearly sleep outs, I try to make a difference.”
