Kluane First Nation recently developed a Strategic Plan (2012) setting out priorities for the Kluane First Nation Government over the next 2 – 3 years; new and existing businesses will be supported by the economic vision and strategies of this plan.

Tourism is the other major economy in the area; most tourist facilities are open only from May to September, the prime Yukon tourist season, while some remain open year-round.

Residents in Burwash Landing also rely on subsistence and traditional activities; securing a significant portion of their food supply from hunting, fishing and trapping.

Some traditional crafts are sold at a local craft store.
