Welcome to Carcross
Klondike prospectors who conquered the infamous Chilkoot Pass on their way to the Klondike gold fields took a much needed break in the small settlement of Caribou Crossing; today known as Carcross.  The name derives from the magnificent herds of caribou that crossed through the area on their historical annual migration.  Today Carcross is a thriving community known for its tourism opportunities and remarkable outdoor adventure sports.
If you are thinking of living, working, starting a business or visiting Carcross, we invite you to explore our Community Profile.  It provides information ranging from quality of life to economic opportunities, including statistical data, videos, photos and more.
