On average, for every dollar you spend on gas, fuel, cigarettes, groceries, personal care items, or household cleaning supplies in Whitehorse, you’ll pay $1.11 to buy the same products in Faro (April, 2012).

As with many rural communities, Faro is home to a grocery/hardware store. However, Faro residents do travel to Whitehorse, continue to purchase some items in bulk, order materials and goods by phone or online, and also supplement their groceries by hunting, fishing, berry picking, canning, smoking, or baking.
