Upgrade the TLS version of your Power BI application to TLS 1.2
Support for transport layer security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 for Power BI will end in June 2020. Upgrade the TLS version of your Power BI application to TLS 1.2 before then.
Export Power BI reports to PDF, PPTX, or PNG files using REST API
Power BI now has an additional set of capabilities that allow you to export a Power BI report by using a REST call to the following file formats—PDF, PPTX (PowerPoint), and PNG.

Power BI Embedded filters API now supports single selection filter
Power BI Embedded now has the capability to set a basic filter as a single selection filter. To do this, when editing the report, select the checkbox that says Require single selection at the bottom of the filter card. In addition, it's now possible to have the same single selection filter behavior when using the JavaScript client APIs.
Power BI has new, improved usage metrics report
The new Power BI usage metrics report allows you to monitor the views of your report, and to see the consumption’s platform. For embedded reports, to see the different kinds of embed scenarios, simply hover over the embedded data.
Power BI—High contrast mode for embedded reports now available
Set your embedded Power BI reports to use a high contrast theme to enable users who may have visual or physical impairments to benefit from your reports.
Power BI report authoring APIs now support a new aggregation function
Power BI report authoring APIs now support a new aggregation function when constructing data fields.

New Power BI API generates embed tokens for multiple items
Generate an embed token with permissions for multiple Power BI reports, datasets, and target workspaces using the new Power BI API.
Power BI Clone and Rebind APIs now support shared datasets
Power BI shared datasets are now supported in Power BI Embedded, allowing you to manage the connections of Power BI datasets and reports across workspaces. This capability enabled us to expand the following APIs and automate related scenarios:
Connect a Power BI report to a dataset using dynamic binding
Use dynamic binding to maintain a single template of a Power BI report that can be connected to multiple datasets across workspaces, instead of copying and maintaining hundreds of report duplicates.
The new Power BI filter pane goes live in all reports
The new filter pane goes live in all reports in April 2020. Turn it on now to fine-tune the formatting in your reports before then.

The service principal is now available for Power BI Embedded
Service principal allows you to access resources or perform operations using Power BI API without the need for a user to sign in or have a Power BI Pro license.
Visual Authoring API for Power BI Embedded now available
The new Power BI Report Authoring SDK extension allows programmatic creation of visuals, binding them to columns, measures, hierarchies, and personalizing them by setting properties like axis visibility and titles.
New tool for automating load testing of Power BI Embedded capacities now available
A tool for automating load testing of Power BI Embedded capacities helps you understand how much user load your capacity can handle when used. It uses PowerShell to create automated load tests against your capacities, and lets you choose which reports to test and how many concurrent users to simulate.
Recent Rendering performance improvements now available in Power BI Embedded
Power BI Embedded recently improved performance in two key areas: embedding different reports into the same iframe and query caching for embedded reports.
New filters experience is available in Power BI Embedded
The new Power BI filters experience is available in Power BI Embedded and in embedded reports as well. The new experience has an updated design and useful features, such as hide, lock, and rename filters.
New region: Johannesburg (South Africa North) now supports Power BI Embedded
This new region allows customers to locate their Power BI Embedded deployments closer to their data sources, either in Azure or on-premises, enabling faster data refresh performance and lower networking egress costs.

Power BI Embedded analytics accessibility improvements for application users
We've added some accessibility improvements to applications using Power BI Embedded analytics that will help users of applications have additional ways to interact with Power BI Embedded visuals. These improvements include keyboard navigation, title attribution, and tabbing.
‘Key influencers’ AI visual is now available in Power BI Embedded analytics to help users identify what factors influence a KPI
The Key influencers visual surfaces what factors influence a KPI. For example, users may want to analyze what factors impact user satisfaction of a product. Factors that can impact this KPI can be the type of product they bought, the price, or even if the user is a first-time buyer vs a returning customer. You can embed this visualization into your own application with Power BI Embedded.
Upload Datasets only with Power BI Embedded analytics ‘Import’ API
Using the Power BI Import API, developers can uncouple the dataset and report so they can upload just the dataset to a workspace. Developers use the 'skipreport' parameter to upload only the dataset in cases where they do not want to also upload the report to the workspace.
Power BI REST API with ‘Try-it’ tool allows you to try APIs without any code
Anyone with a Power BI license can now log into the account to see how the Power BI REST API works, get information, or perform operation on Power BI artifacts you have access to - without writing any code using the Power BI REST API Try-it Tool. With five simple steps, users are able to try capabilities of the Power BI REST API without writing code.
