The WHO Country Office, Slovenia was re-established in February 2007 in Ljubljana to design and deliver WHO programmes in consultation with the Slovene authorities. The priorities for the Country Office are set out in the biennial collaborative agreement between WHO/Europe and Slovenia. The Office implements the agreement in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, national institutions and international partner agencies.

Employing 1637 staff, the Community Health Centre (CHC) Ljubljana, located in the Slovenian capital, provides comprehensive care to over 422 000 residents. This includes preventive health care, treatment of chronic diseases, and response to emergency situations such as natural disasters and, more recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.
