WHO estimates a requirement of US$ 1.7 billion to respond to COVID-19 until December 2020. WHOs financial ASK is in addition to what Governments are requiring against their National Action Plans and national SPRPs. The resources will be used to implement priority public health measures in support of countries to prepare and respond to coronavirus outbreaks, as well as to ensure continuation of essential health services, as outlined in the Strategy released on 14 April.
Thanks to the prompt action and solidarity of our contributors, part of the funds have already been received.
