Postponement and time needed to obtain a hearing

Postponement

A party who is unable to be present at a hearing on the date scheduled may ask the clerk to postpone the case.

If this is the first request for a postponement and if it is made at least one month before the date of the hearing, the clerk will decide if it is admissible. In other cases, the request for a postponement will be submitted to the judge.
