As the nation's central bank, the Bank of Canada has four main areas of responsibility:

Monetary Policy

Currency

The Bank of Canada is the country’s sole authority for issuing bank notes and is responsible for the design, production and distribution of Canada’s bank notes.

Funds Management

The Bank provides funds-management services to the Government of Canada, itself and other clients.

Monetary Policy Report

A quarterly report of the Bank of Canada’s Governing Council, presenting the Bank’s base-case projection for inflation and growth in the Canadian economy, and its assessment of risks.
