Express Entry
As of January 2015, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) implemented a system called Express Entry to manage applications for permanent residence under certain economic immigration programs.
Ontario has two new streams for skilled workers who want to live and work permanently in the province that will draw applicants from the federal Express Entry pool of applications:
- Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities
- Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker
These streams enable Ontario to nominate individuals who have entered CIC’s Express Entry pool, and who have the required education, skilled work experience, and language ability to fill gaps in Ontario’s labour market.
