This project will develop and pilot online exam preparation resources in order to address the discrepancy between the licensing examination pass rates of Canadian-educated internationally trained Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) and internationally trained MLTs.
The online learning resource will consist of multimedia components that cover the nature and structure of the multiple-choice competency-based certification exam, how to prepare for such an exam, how the exam is evaluated and scored, what scores are required for licensure, et cetera. In addition, the resource will direct internationally trained MLTs to supplementary resources to assist in preparing for the exam.

This project will develop a Frame of Reference enabling internationally trained individuals (ITIs), as well as any person whose first language is neither French nor English, to match their bilingual skills to a specific job posting in the health, tourism, and administration sectors.
The Frame of Reference of Bilingual Competency will also provide employers with information for their selection and promotion process. This tool will be made available on-line in both official languages.

This project will develop a cultural competency certificate for delivery at Ontario companies and as a public certificate which will qualify holders for recertification credits for the Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRP) designation.
The certificate will help Human Resources (HR) professionals to gain organizational competence and confidence to recruit, hire, retain and promote qualified internationally educated HR professionals in Ontario companies.

This project will ensure that the improved tools, policies and processes used to assess, teach, and support English language skills development internationally educated nurses become embedded into York University’s core business. Though this project focuses on internationally educated nurses, the ultimate goal is to expand to internationally educated professionals in other professions.

This project will develop new resources for engineering employers in order to help facilitate the integration and retention of internationally trained engineers into Ontario workplaces.
The project will create an online engineering sector hub of information and services, which will be useful for human resources and management staff in engineering companies. The ultimate goal is to improve the sector-wide recruitment and hiring practices, workplace integration and employment retention of internationally trained engineers.

This project addresses the challenges that are faced by internationally-trained dental specialists in passing the National Dental Speciality Examination (NDSE) and becoming eligible for licensure in Ontario and find work in their field. The Royal College of Dentists of Canada aims to do this by developing a revised examination process, providing additional training to volunteer examiners and making information more accessible to internationally trained applicants.

This project will establish a trusted centre of excellence to administer and develop occupation-specific communication assessments for internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs). The Centre will provide a hub for valid, reliable communication competency assessments, as identified by regulators and other key stakeholders; help health regulators understand, set and implement language proficiency standards that are fair and defensible; and revise and develop objective, transparent language communication competency assessment tools and resources.
