Ontario has 14 road border crossings, one truck ferry, and four passenger ferries with the United States. The province's international crossings in Windsor, Sarnia and Fort Erie/Niagara Falls are the busiest in Canada based on the volume of goods and number of trucks crossing the border.

The Seaway International Bridge/Three Nations Bridge Crossing in Cornwall connects Highway 138 in Ontario with Highway 37 in New York State.
In 2012, 1.8 million passenger vehicles used the crossing.
The Peace Bridge connects the QEW in Fort Erie, Ontario, with Interstate 90 in Buffalo, New York.
This is Canada's third-busiest crossing for trade with more than 1.2 million trucks crossing the bridge each year. In terms of total traffic volumes, the Peace Bridge is the second busiest crossing between Ontario and the U.S. More than 4.7 million passenger vehicles cross the bridge annually.
The Fort Frances - International Falls International Bridge connects Ontario's Highway 11 in Fort Frances with Interstates 53 and 71 in International Falls, Minnesota. The crossing carried almost 0.91 million passenger vehicles in 2012.

Queenston-Lewistown Bridge
This bridge connects Hwy. 405 in Queenston, Ontario, and Interstate 90 in Lewistown, New York.
In 2012, more than 3.3 million passenger vehicles and nearly 700,000 commercial vehicles used the bridge.

Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge connects Hwy 420 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, with Niagara Falls, New York.
In 2012, the Rainbow Bridge carried 3.46 million passenger vehicles. Trucks are prohibited from using this crossing. The Rainbow Bridge is a popular border crossing for pedestrians.

Whirlpool Rapids Bridge
The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge connects River Road and Bridge Street in Niagara Falls, Ontario, with State Roads 104 and 182 in Niagara Falls, New York.
The Whirlpool Bridge is a dedicated NEXUS crossing.
The Pigeon River International Bridge south-west of Thunder Bay connects Ontario's Highway 61 with Highway 61 in Grand Portage, Minnesota.

Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge connects Highway 16 in Ontario with Highway 812 in New York State. In 2012, 772,000 passenger vehicles used the crossing.
The Baudette - Rainy River International Bridge connects Highway 11 in Ontario with Minnesota State Highway 72 and Minnesota and is the most western border crossing in Ontario.
The Blue Water Bridge connects Highway 402 in Sarnia, Ontario with U.S. Interstates I-69 and I-94 in Port Huron, Michigan.
This is Canada's second-busiest crossing for commercial traffic, with over 1.5 million trucks and $42.2 billion in road trade annually. This translates to over 4,400 trucks each day carrying $116 million in goods.
The Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge connects Huron Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, with Interstate 75 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
In 2012, nearly 1.9 million passenger cars and more than 100,000 trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles used the bridge.
FAST/NEXUS is not available at this crossing.
Thousand Islands Bridge connects Highway 137 east of Ivy Lea, Ontario, with Interstate 81 in Fisher's Landing, New York State.
In 2012, more than 330,000 trucks and 1.66 million passenger vehicles crossed the U.S.-Canada border at this location.
The Windsor-Detroit Gateway is Canada's busiest land border crossing. It has four crossing points:
- The Ambassador Bridge connects Huron Church Road (Windsor) with I-75 and I-96 in Detroit, Michigan.
- The Windsor-Detroit Tunnel, at Goyeau Street (Windsor) and Jefferson Avenue (Detroit) provides connections to Ontario's Highway 401 via Dougall Avenue and the Michigan Interstate System via I-375 (Chrysler Freeway) and M-10 (John C. Lodge Freeway).
- The Detroit-Windsor Truck Ferry, for commercial and HAZMAT (hazardous materials) trucks only, at Sprucewood Avenue (Windsor) and West Jefferson Avenue (Detroit) provides connections to Ontario's Highway 401 and the Michigan Interstate System.
- Michigan Central Railway Tunnel, for freight trains only, connects Windsor with Detroit via a tunnel under the Detroit River.
In 2012, the Gateway handled $91.6 billion (or 28.2%) of road trade between Canada and the U.S. with more than $250 million in commodities travelling through the Windsor-Detroit Gateway each day.
There are four passenger ferries operating between Ontario and the U.S.
- Pelee Island Ferry: Operates between Pelee Island, in Ontario, and Sandusky,in Ohio.
- Sombra Ferry: Operates between Sombra, in Ontario, and Marine City, in Michigan.
- Walpole Island Ferry: Operates between Walpole Island, in Ontario, and Algonac, in Michigan.
- Wolfe Island Ferry: Operates between Wolfe Island, in Ontario, and Cape Vincent, in New York State.
