Extended expiry date
If you did not renew your licence plate sticker(s) during the COVID-19 extension, you are required to pay for that skipped renewal fee and your next renewal fee. Find out more information about extensions.
We are ending the expiry date extension period for product(s) that expired on or after March 1, 2020.
Dates you need to renew by:
February 28, 2022
- licence plate sticker (renew now)
- driver’s licence (renew now)
- health card (renew now)
- Ontario Photo Card (renew now)
- accessible parking permit (renew now)

We recommend you renew products based on the following renewal schedule to help minimize service delays:
- March, April and May birthdays renew in October 2021
- June, July and August birthdays renew in November 2021
- September and October birthdays renew in December 2021
- November and December birthdays renew in January 2022
- January and February birthdays renew in February 2022

Sign up to get emails, text messages or phone call reminders 60 and 30 days before it’s time to renew your licence plate sticker, driver’s licence or health card.
Health coverage and COVID-19
You do not need an Ontario health card or OHIP to get screened or treated for COVID-19.
If you applied for OHIP before March 19, 2020 and are currently in the three-month waiting period, your coverage starts on March 19. If you need to seek medical treatment, call the ServiceOntario InfoLine at 1-866-532-3161 to have your OHIP effective date adjusted and a health card issued.
