BAO operations continue during COVID-19

During this unprecedented time Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) staff members are continuing business as usual, but working from home to do so.
Our phones and emails will continue to be answered, as work and services continue. Please defer deliveries and pick ups until further notice.

The BAO is taking this step as directed by Public Health Ontario’s recommendation that people avoid large gatherings and minimize regular interactions to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
BAO employees, who have recently travelled abroad, have been asked to self-isolate and work from home for 14 days upon return to Canada, in accordance with federal and provincial government guidance.
We will update this information as the situation requires.

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario administers provisions of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 (FBCSA) on behalf of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. Responsible for protection of the public interest, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario regulates and supports licensed funeral establishments, cemetery operators, crematorium operators, transfer service operators, funeral directors, funeral preplanners, transfer service sales representatives, cemetery sales representatives, and crematorium sales representatives across Ontario.
