Online Status Inquiry

Welcome to the Office of the Registrar General's Online Status Inquiry system.
You can search for the status of your:

• Birth certificate(s)
• Marriage certificate(s)
• Death certificate(s)

To use Online Status Inquiry system, you will need to provide the following information about the certificate request:

• The type of certificate you requested (Birth, Death or Marriage)
• Applicant name and telephone number
• Name of the subject
• Date of the event
• Order / File Number, if available

Status information is only available the day after an application is entered into the Office of the Registrar General's processing system. Depending on the service level you selected, this may be some time after receipt of your application. See the table below to determine when status information for your application should be available:

Note: Status tracking is not available for Premium Online requests at this time. If your Premium Online request cannot be processed, you will be contacted by the ORG within the first 2 business days, at the daytime phone number provided.

Personal Information collected during this online status inquiry is collected under the authority of the Vital Statistics Act. R.S.O 1990, c.V.4 and will be used to check the status of your application for birth, death and marriage certificates. Questions about this collection should be directed to:
