Lining the walls of the Legislative Building are artworks from the Government of Ontario Art Collection. Initiated during the 1850s, it was the first publicly funded art collection in Canada. Now curated by the Archives of Ontario, it features copies of European old master paintings, as well as pieces by some of Ontario's most celebrated artists, including George Agnew Reid.
