This education program designed for English as a Second Language learners is tailored to each group depending on their language level and group expectations. Students will participate in a series of engaging activities that will introduce the function of Ontario's Parliament, its traditions and the rights and responsibilities of active citizenship.

Program Options

Beginner to Low Intermediate Language Level

Parliamentary Language & Traditions – Students will be introduced to vocabulary related to parliament, highlighting its function and traditions. Students will also have an opportunity to dress-up in the traditional uniforms worn by the Speaker, Sergeant at Arms or Clerk.

Intermediate to Advanced Language Level

Active Citizenship – Students will participate in an interactive activity where they will gain an understanding of the three levels of government and their responsibilities with an emphasis on the function of Ontario's Parliament and how to become active and engaged citizens.
