Guidance, support and BC's Restart

Information for residents of British Columbia about COVID-19.

BC's Restart

BC's Restart is a careful, four-step plan focused on protecting people and safely getting life back to normal.

COVID-19 financial benefits

British Columbians impacted by COVID-19 can access income supports, tax relief and direct funding from the federal and provincial governments. This list is updated on an ongoing basis.

Provincial and regional restrictions

Some provincial restrictions remain in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The restrictions are made by the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) under the Public Health Act. Regional restrictions may be in place for health authorities with lower vaccination rates.

Paid sick leave

Workers can take 3 days of paid sick leave if they need to stay home because of COVID-19. The program is in place until December 31, 2021.

Violation tickets

By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), people and businesses can be issued a violation ticket for non-compliance.

Gradual ending for COVID-19 orders and regulations

The COVID-19 provincial state of emergency declared under the Emergency Program Act ended at 11:59 pm on June 30, 2021. Certain orders and regulations made during the state of emergency are extended to help with a gradual transition back to normal. Information on this page is updated frequently and is subject to change.
