Learn how to nominate a British Columbia lawyer for a Queen’s Counsel (QC) designation,  apply to article with the Ministry of Attorney General or become a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits.

Articled Student Program

The Ministry of Attorney General hires articled students every year, one year ahead of the start date of their articles. Students work with the Legal Services Branch or the BC Prosecution Service and have the opportunity to work with other branches during articles.

Commissioners for Taking Affidavits

A Commissioner for Taking Affidavits is a person appointed or designated under the Evidence Act to administer oaths and affirmations and to take affidavits and declarations.

Queen's Counsel nomination process

The 2021 nomination process is now closed.  QC recipients will be announced in the near future.  The nomination process will commence in 2022.
