Canada Border Services Agency - Home

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) facilitates the flow of legitimate travellers and trade. The Agency also enforces more than 90 acts and regulations that keep our country and Canadians safe.

Beware – Scammers posing as CBSA personnel

Protect yourself against fraud! People claiming to work for the CBSA are contacting victims by phone, email, text and other means to lure them into providing personal information or money. This is a scam. The CBSA never requests social insurance numbers, credit card information or cash payments by telephone or email.

Notice: Cannabis

Despite the fact that cannabis (marijuana) is legal and regulated in Canada, it remains illegal to transport cannabis in any form – including any oils containing THC or cannabidiol (CBD), across Canada’s national borders whether you are entering or leaving Canada. Additionally, receiving or sending cannabis in any form into or out of Canada by mail or courier is also illegal. Unauthorized purchases from outside Canada (online or other) will be confiscated at the border and may lead to arrest and criminal prosecution

For more information, consult cannabis (marijuana) legalization.
