Getting Your COVID-19 Vaccination

The COVID-19 vaccine campaign's goal is to immunize as many people as quickly and as safely as possible.

Effective August 8, 2021, the Saskatchewan Health Authority is no longer offering drive-thru or booked mass vaccination clinics.

All of the vaccines being administered are safe and approved by Health Canada for use. All of them are important to help protect the public from severe illness and death from COVID-19. The booking agents do not have access to information about the kind of vaccine you're getting, and the brand you receive is subject to change, based on available supplies.

1. Check Your Eligibility

All Saskatchewan residents born in 2009 (and older) are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. A second dose of the vaccine can be provided 28 days after receiving the first dose.

Vaccinations are available at participating pharmacies across the province and through Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) pop-up clinics. For communities without access to a nearby pharmacy, booked appointments may be available through the online booking system as well as through clinics operated by Indigenous Services Canada and the Northern Inter-tribal Health Authority (NITHA).

2. Get Ready To Book

health card iconWhen you go online, you'll be asked for your:

  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Health card number
  • Email address or a phone number that can receive text messages
If you do not have a valid health card, cell phone and/or email address, please call HealthLine 811 to book your appointment.

The booking office does not have access to extra appointments than what's available online.

Family and friends who aren't yet eligible can also book online on behalf of someone who is eligible.

Note: You will never be asked for your social insurance number, driver's licence number, or banking and credit card details.

3. Book Online

Please note that there are a very limited number of booked appointment clinics available in communities where there is no nearby pharmacy.

The online tool is simple, fast and easy to use. It takes just a few minutes to book your appointment.

The system will guide you through a few simple questions, gathering consent, choice of clinic and booking date and time.

To use the online booking option you must have a valid health card, cell phone and/or email address.

4. Booking Over the Phone

If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and would like to speak with a health care professional, call HealthLine 811. These agents are also able to process appointment booking.

5. What to Expect at the Vaccine Clinic

Only people who are eligible will get their vaccine dose. You will be turned away from the clinic if your are not yet eligible.

Arrive prepared

Get ready for your appointment:

  • Bring your health card and cell phone (if you have one).
  • Wear a short-sleeved shirt.
  • Do not bring any extra items such as a purse, coffee cup, book, etc.
  • Bring a mask with you. If the clinic is inside an SHA facility, you will be required to wear a mask at all times.
  • You will be asked to clean your hands upon entrance.
  • It is important to maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet) from others – except those you live with.
  • Arrive 5 minutes early to your appointment and expect to stay 15 minutes after your vaccine. You can bring one person with you for support.

During the Appointment

At the clinic, your appointment will take about 30 minutes:
