National Victims and Survivors of Crime week

The National Victims and Survivors of Crime week is from May 15-21, 2022. This year’s theme is Power of Collaboration.

In the spirit of Piliriqatigiinniq/ Ikajuqtigiinniq (working together for a common cause), Nunavut Victim Services will be organizing events with service providers, stakeholders, and community members in various communities.

Throughout the week, Nunavut Victim Services staff will host information sharing sessions with service providers, community BBQs in eight communities and a walk in Rankin Inlet to commemorate and honour Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls.

Victims and survivors of crime can access support in the areas of counselling, through Victim Services referrals, victim impact statements and resources for families affected by Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls.

Victim Services is a confidential client-centered support service for victims and survivors of crime, available throughout the territory. If you or someone you know has been a victim of crime, please call 1-866-456-5216 or VictimServices@gov.nu.ca.

For more information about the upcoming events, please reach out to Dephin Mutema dmutema@gov.nu.ca or call 867-975-6373.
