Word of Welcome

The year 2015 is one of celebration for Francophones in Ontario. In fact, we are celebrating 400 years of French presence in Ontario, the 40th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag, the 5th anniversary of Franco-Ontarian Day, and the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the strategic planning exercise for the development of French language services in Ontario’s Justice Sector.

This issue includes an interview with Sabine Derbier, French Language Services Coordinator for Ontario’s Justice Sector ministries, about the progress made in this area in the last 10 years. You’ll also find an update on justice information hubs and an overview of some of the projects being funded.

In Capsule 41, you will meet Marie-Josée Poirier, Counsel and Coordinator Responsible for the Implementation of Section 41 of the Official Languages Act in the Family, Children and Youth Section of the Department of Justice Canada.

Finally, don’t miss the OLQuiz, which has to do with the Franco-Ontarian flag!

Happy reading!
