Under the direction of the Chief Justice, the Judicial Administrator will give advance notice of the proposed sittings of the Federal Court of Appeal and the method of hearing: in person, or virtual (through Zoom). The Bar is requested to take account of such proposed sittings when making applications for hearings.
Once a hearing date is set, files will be added to the hearing schedule on the Federal Court of Appeal webpage: Hearing Schedule.
At present, the Federal Court of Appeal intends to sit in the following cities on the following days:
Whether or not the Court will sit in person in the above cities during these periods will depend, among other things, on public health recommendations, the parties’ preferences, and the number of the cases that can be heard in person in those cities on those days. The Federal Court of Appeal will continue to hold virtual hearings at the request of the parties or where circumstances require. The Judicial Administrator will canvass the parties’ preferences when setting hearing dates.
