Tamara: Are you planning to come to Canada for tourism, business or to visit family and friends? Get informed as there are things you need to do before arriving. Here’s what you need to know before you go.

Text on Screen: Foreign nationals can come to Canada, however, you must: be fully vaccinated with accepted Government of Canada vaccines, submit your information in ArriveCAN, including proof of vaccination, print or take a screenshot, be asymptomatic, be admissible under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, randomly asked to take a test on arrival, but you won't have to quarantine.

Tamara: Make sure you qualify as fully vaccinated. This means you have received the full series of a vaccine, or combination of vaccines, accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days before arriving. If you are not considered to be fully vaccinated, as a foreign national, you will not be able to enter Canada.

You must also submit your information in ArriveCAN before arriving in Canada either through the free App or the website.

When you submit, a receipt will be displayed and emailed to you. You should print or take a screenshot of this receipt and bring it with you when you travel.

If you are flying, you will need to show the air carrier your ArriveCAN receipt before boarding or you won’t be allowed to board your flight.

When you arrive, you must be asymptomatic and be admissible under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

You may be randomly asked to take a test on arrival, but you won’t have to quarantine.

Tamara: As you pack your bags, make sure to visit the Canada Border Services Agency website. It will tell you about declaring your goods and what items you cannot bring into Canada.

You may experience delays at the border due to the public health measures. Help speed up processing times by coming prepared - have your passport, ArriveCAN receipt and proof of vaccination ready.
