We have confirmed speakers for the Friday, November 16, keynote address and the Saturday noon lunch address. On Friday morning, Avrim Lazar, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy, HRDC will address the conference. On Saturday, Gary Burtless from the Brookings Institution, Washington, will provide the lunch address.

Access to the Conference

On Saturday, the G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors are meeting in downtown Ottawa close to the conference location. As a result, there will be some road closures and heightened security measures in place in and around The Westin Ottawa.

• Vehicle access will be available from Daly Avenue through a controlled security checkpoint. Rideau Centre parking garages (Red and Blue) will be accessible via Nicholas Street entrance only.
• For attendees planning to use public transit, the bus route along the Mackenzie King Bridge (the bridge between the Rideau Centre and National Defence HQ) will be a no-pedestrian zone. Buses will drop off passengers either before the bridge (beside the NAC) or after the bridge. Pedestrians will be required to walk down to the lower level entrances to the Rideau Centre: the entrance off of the Mackenzie King Bridge will be closed.

Optional Conference Activity - Friday Night Dinner (posted on October 22)

Reservations for dinner will be made at various restaurants located in downtown Ottawa. Sign-up sheets will be posted close to the conference registration desk on November 16th for delegates to indicate their interest in joining others at one of the selected restaurants.
